Bio
My favorite hobbies include, writing poetry, playing basket ball, and watching Nigerian movies. I am from the graduating class2004 of Miami Carol City High school. I started Miami Dade College in 2005 and I will be gradating in 2010 as a teacher for exceptional children.
Ever since I was eleven I realized that I wanted to help students. In the fifth grade I would get the student of the month award just so that I could get out of class to help the kindergartners teacher. In my elementary school the teacher would give the students of the month the option of getting either a prize or the option of missing class for a week to help the kindergartners. I would always pick to help with the kindergartners because it was fun and second because I loved showing, teaching, explaining, and reaching out to a younger generation. By helping the kindergartners it helped me decide on the career of being a teacher.
As I got older I sought out independence. Through the journey of independence I was able to get a job. My first job was at Pro Player stadium when I was in the 12 grade. I worked there for 2-3 years. While working at the stadium I got a second job the YMCA as a site director. I have worked in this capacity for 9 months then got promoted to site director positing. After 2 years I left the stadiums because I started college. After 3 year of YMCA I left because I had a sick family member that had kids that I had to help take care of. I currently work at the JCC which is as almost the same thing as the YMCA but I drive a bus that picks up different kids at different schools.
Currently I am about to gradate with an AA degree in teaching. I plan to work in Broward as a substitute teacher. I will continue going to Miami Dade College for my BA degree and then further my educational path by attending the University of South Florida for my Masters.
My reflection on the class Edg 2701
When I first came to this class I through that diverse population would be easy and that I would not have to do much. Well I was wrong; Prof. McNair is one of the pushes teachers I know. The first week of class I had to read 6 different articles and write 3 papers about bout the paper I read, sound easy right. No the articles that I read was so long it take me one and half day to finish just one article. On top on the articles I had to also do a lesson plan that was no easy as well.
As the week want on so did my eating and studying for another class. Prof. McNair had me doing some much in a tree days that I barley study for other class or even eat until I had finish all his work or at least striated. I even went to sleep warring about finishing his work the next. It gets so bad that all I do when I come home from work was do his homework and eat. Noting else no watching T.V, no playing with my nephew, or not help my mom clean the house. All that was on my brain was to complete Prof. McNair work. I also was getting the people in my house mad because I would hog the computer (one computer in the house) all day if I did not have to go to work.
However, Prof. McNair not only challenges me to use mind but to go reflect on what I do and read. I could honesty say this class was the first class that made me fill like I am in college. All the work I did even though I struggle with this class this class gave me my wake up call.
The article was crazy to me I never read such material and opinions in my life. The articles that Pro. McNair had me read got me to open my mind to many of thing that I would not have considered because of culture and religion believes.
If I had to take this class again with the same Professor I would. I would just be better prepared and I would take this class along so I would have extra time to do my assignments once and get correct.
Intersexuality and Transsexual
A transsexual is an individual whom create an everlasting characteristics with the opposed sex to his or her birth gender. Hormonally persuade altering their physical lacking surgical transforms are enough to be eligible for the name transsexual. I believe that is wrong to change one grander complete, because I am a Christian, I believe that God made me a woman for a reason and if he wanted to make me a boy he would have. Yes there is sometimes that I want to be boys but there are other times I love being a girl. Unlike a few people who are born with many or mixture of genetics there is nothing wrong with transsexual. Transsexual was born with defect to me they are normal, so why do they feel like they need to change their physical appearance to the opposite? I guess transsexual feel deep, deep down inside that they are not the person their body portray. Almost like when a women who was born with tiny breast feels inside that she should have big breast. She wants it so bad that she do plastic surgery to portray her inner image.
Homosexual
Most people that are against homosexual argue that homosexual is a choice and not obligated. I agree and disagree, I agree that some homosexual choice, for example if one is having trouble getting girls or boy one might choice a easy way out or one social life might not be as good with opposite gander then with the same gander. I disagree that homosexual is choice because I believe that most homosexual have no choice. For example a boy who was rise up to be homosexual and nothing else does not have any choice is to be what he has been teach. I also disagree that homosexual is a choice because some study show that homosexual can be biologic. Today studies have came up with a fresh theory the reasons people to became homosexual is because it a biology and a choice when makes but this is just a theory. Let homosexual people and other have the same right as any human being.
Immigration
Worker: I am sorry I do not speak English
Many people leave their country to come and live in Florida, immigrate find schools, homes, work and other things in Florida that their country lack. I believe Florida holds a major harbor of access for refugees. So what makes people form Cuba different that if they step one foot on America soil they can stay and others can not.
When refugees come to Florida or Miami, they come as an undocumented refugee. Once the refugees have contact with U.S. soil they are detected by police and place under arrest. After the refugees are arrested they can then request refuge; they are then put into the hands of immigration representatives who can pass up arrest. Refugees that come to America are in search of refuge. Typically refuges become licensed for particular conditions. For example work that an American do not do the government would make refuges licensed to be in America do so they can do the work that most Americans would even think of doing. Refugees that come to America from Haiti will not benefit from similar particular conditions as Cubans. A lot of Cuban refugees do make it in America and typically get refuge while a lot of Haitians refugees do not.
America allows Cuban refugees and not Haiti refugee’s entrance into Florida. Many years ago over 124,000 people from Cubans refugees lived in America. During this time of innovatory in the government an extra 215,000 traveled to America. Cuban society today is now above million. From the time of the Cuban refugee uprising American migration plan has greeted the Cuban cast out by open supports. Until1985 Cubans coming into the nation by usual migration methods faced no consequence. Undocumented applicants had repeated admission to individual advantages that just political migrants were allowed. America demonstrated to other countries how terrible circumstances that Cubans were living however Haiti is also living in the same condition as of Cubans refuges but at worst today. Since Americans will not let Haiti refugees into America as like Cubans refuges Americans should at least help their country out.
Racism
Just like people can perform race to another so can establishments do the same. Establishments can perform in methods that can be obviously racist especially to people with a different color when they are a custom. For example when one black and one Caucasian walk in to a store they sales representative will ask the Caucasian if he wants anything and how can he or she can help. While the other sales representative will be watching out for the person of color if he or she will steal something and will not ask if he/ or she needs help.
Racism is everywhere and very hard to notice when one culture makes another culture feel less than they are. Racism can also be considered a form of hate. The question then becomes can someone truly hate another human being; considering the fact that hate such a strong word. Hate or racism is more than just words; it can be an action. I believe that most people that are doing racist things because they hate their color, beliefs, values, or culture and do not understand what hate really means. If people were to look deep down inside they will see it not hate but just different. I believe that those who practice hate are not opening their minds to the possibility learning and loving those around them
The Holocaust
While people were being picked for the gas cavity a popular book was kept to keep record for the number of people the Auschwitz killed in one day. This popular book was written by Jean-Claude Pressac. The book consisted of 564-sheets of lessons is support inside Nazi credentials, memos, notes, architectural sketches as well as riches of additional main foundations. The book portrayed the position Auschwitz and how it participated in aiding with the Holocaust.
With the remains of the building still being here today it is no doubt that the Holocaust exit however, there are some people who deny the Holocaust ever happen. These deniers are blind by their own perception and fail to see the evidence. Evidence’s that show the Holocaust existed. For example, pictures, videos, books of the deaths, papers of victims who died, as well as from victims who survived. Deniers state that there is substantial proof that tells people that Auschwitz had no deaths in the gas chambers.
I believe that deniers just want to have power over something and someone. I also believe that deniers of the Holocaust and Auschwitz are scared of the truth. The truth is that humans can do such things to people because of color, race, culture, beliefs, and values.
Culture has different categories
Chauvinism: A person with an organization who is very specific to certain qualities people in their society display. These societies’ make rules to mold around their values, morals along with another as well.
Degradation: One person within a group will influence practice in the institutional unfairness or cruelty foundation of leading color, faith as well of beliefs, traditions, or sexual category, and other. This person could believe to their cultural or spiritual, national and sexual category tradition, or sexual direction is insufficient, bad or lesser. People also in a selected group has constant differences and could experience that some of the variation can make them lesser. This can also be similar of most people within cultural organizations whom have discrete customs. Most of these people could gain customs from ones apparent understandings of discrimination damage of self-concepts along with low person-regard leading to person-hatred. People from the cultural group might come across judicious out set as the foe or oppressors. These people might build up a variety of feelings together with aggression and narrow-mindedness towards association.
Cultural Pride: People from a specific cultural crowd are trained through their mutual principles to obtain pleasure within, to be overconfident of their national or spiritual, cultural along with sexual category inheritances. They gain from inheritances, morals along with major qualities of personal-respect, set characteristics, along with group team spirit as well as group structure. The degree to which one set are capable to the right to use people’s rights as well as benefits is openly connected to ones skill to go with micro-civilizing crowd characteristics, micro-civilizing deliberation as well as routine manners to macro-civilizing traditions and customs or persuade folks traditions and customs. These people are skilled of consulting the split among micro-culture and family member easiness. Pride within one’s morals, providing that it do not slip into emotions of civilizing dominance as well as aggravate, overlook or accept to prejudiced or cruel performs, is necessary for the growth of personal-esteem, crowd characteristics, structure along with team spirit. Personal-esteem, set personality, group structure as well as group team spirit are significant positions in starting fit participatory supporting accomplishment along with collective alteration. Personal-esteem, group characteristics, group structure along with group team spirit can permit a picky crowd to transport regarding progressive supporting alteration.
All of there characteristics falls under culture these three different categories that I believe that are true. I also believe that as teacher it is great to understand these different categories because it can help one understand other beliefs, value, race, and other.
Prejudice
Discrimination hurts like a huge knife being stab in your heart. Culture, beliefs and gender are important factors in the ideology of discrimination. I wish there was not any discrimination in the world because the world would be a better place. Discrimination is not only skin deep, it includes rap victims, disable people, homosexuality, Tran- sexuality, cancer, HIV, AIDS, and other disease.
It is very hard to stop discrimination; I believe that some people discriminate, not realizing that he or she is doing it subconsciously. I also believe that people, who are involved in discriminating acts unintentionally, had not been taught the basic principle of discrimination.
Unintentional discrimination is very different than intentional discrimination. When someone is intentionally doing something wrong, I believe that this person is cruel. There are people who know that they are discriminating to a specific values, beliefs, culture, race, or gender. This is what hurts when someone intentionally doing something wrong.
There are programs that help to reduce discrimination but to me they do not really work I believe that the government should make it mandatory for people to attend these programs and if they do not show up there should be consequences.
Discrimination is not to be played with it is hurtful and down right nasty, one should watch what they say and how they say it.
beliefs help people be who they are
Beliefs are basic essentials that influence culture along with influencing cultural customs. In a culture, beliefs are used as a supporting tool to enhance the growth of a stable daily living.
Values are specific beliefs about the desirability or undesirability if thought, objects, behavior or conduct, or conditions of being. Values are implicit or explicit judgments about things, goals, and actions undesirable. Values are also decisions or choices made by individuals and cultures regarding what the significance of food or evil, right or wrong, beautiful or ugly, useful or useless, worthwhile or worthless and the gamut between.
Values are connected to belief and culture. Without beliefs, a culture would not be a culture
Attitudes are also a kind of beliefs. Where values are beliefs about what is good or bad, how one should or should hot behave or what terminal conditions of being are worthy or unworthy of attaining, attitudes are specific actions oriented beliefs.
Reading this article helped me realize that if one tries to change their beliefs, values, or attitudes, that it would be vary hard to do. For example, someone who has been taught that something bad is good all their life and one day realizing that what they have been taught was wrong; to change their mentality would take years to do but one can make the effort to change their mind . I have also realized that everyone has a belief, value, and attitude that they base their life on.
The abilityto see, hear, feel, taste, and smell is something
My ears can hear any sound weather it is music or words. Ears are crazy they pick up any sound weather it is little or big. Sound goes into the outside ear otherwise called pinna though the passage in the ear. The eardrum transmit sound through involuntary power from the eardrum faction, the eardrum shakes when noise strikes it, causing mallet otherwise called malleus, to quiver. The Eustachian pipe, releases into the center ear. The central ear is liable for balancing weight among the humility exterior ear to inside the center ear. The stirrup connects with the oval gap, this join the central ear to the internal ear. These even out the weight in the ear passage though the perilymph, the liquid in the gap among the membranous along with lean hall of the internal ear. Final power alteration occurs here. Mechanical power is altered into the wandering signal outline of the basilar covering. Inside the cochlea with in the scala media, the limb of Corti is the good judgment organ of audible range.
Our nose smell everything where there is good or bad we still smell it. When we smell something it sends the sense to our mind. Our mind than pick if the smell is nice or awful, there is more depend into the nose but I decided to just write about briefly.
It takes a lot of processes just for us to see with our eyes, hear with our ears, and touch with our body, tastes with our tongue and smell with our nose. Most of us have made understand the mechanism of action behind our sense. We have used and learned how to use these sense since the day we were born. I learned that we as human take things for granted. For example looking at a flower or the sky; there are some humans that can not see the sky or hear the birds sing. I also learn that there is a lot to it than just hearing, seeing, tasting, feeling, and smelling. I learn that we as human make sense with the senses we have. We learned how to use our tongue, when we were little. I forget as a baby I had to learn how to eat with my mouth, noticed things in the sky and many other things. I also learned that that is not just hearing but processes are being done for me to do things that I think are simple.

Our senses
My ears can hear any sound weather it is music or words. Ears are crazy they pick up any sound weather it is little or big. The eardrum transmit sound through involuntary power from the eardrum faction, the eardrum shakes when noise strikes it, causing mallet otherwise called malleus, to quiver. Awareness and Consciousness
There is a lot of information about awareness because there are different values, aspects and experience from different people and cultures.
Consciousness: I believe there is no real different between consciousness and alertness. Being alert toward what is going around one self or what one self is doing to me is being conscious an aware. However there is a difference in consciousness and awareness.
Consciousness deals with being awake and not being aware what is going around one self. For example I can be awake and not be aware to the birds singing, or how beautiful the sky is. I guess consciousness is just being awake and not being aware.
Consciousness is a value of one brain, except it is one whole brain. Our brain is capable of being equally aware along with unaware. Awareness is not psychological. Consciousness is the value of brain and the psychological. To reach your destination of realization, one must come to the areas from the mind which contains recollection, information as well as feeling.
What are the structure of culture
Propositional are words similar to representations. For example expressions like proverbs, verses, and others. Propositional does not include conserve characteristic features as well as interactions of substance. One can as well be used to symbolize over substantial substance, although concepts along with thoughts. Information: being able to collect interested in a group otherwise an entire and mutual according in the direction of system or main beliefs. A large number of belongings, thoughts, and concepts are capable of being spoken in an extremely packed together image.
Mental illustrations are mental photographs of an object, person, or place, which is implied training. One receives knowledge from mind descriptions that one in no way purposely stored. On the other hand, one can grip a mind illustration of an exact individual. For instance knowledge regarding that individual will be able to recover from one mind representation.
Schemas, is the capability of humans to transform or adjust our mind models as well as skills to get to the bottom of troubles posed through fresh knowledge. Schemas are the arrangement to argue the option of order. Deliberate behaviors, and broadly range in the amount of group as well as difficulty. This is connected toward structures with mentality models along with related behaviors.
In schemas the individual or person will be doing the describing while encoding. Also the supposition of the connection among the two portion of similarity is completed. Lastly, the connection indirect among the primary two conditions beginning the third similarity period, to every potential response is useful.
As a teacher one has to use mental illustration, and schemas to place mind representation into student’s minds to help understand new materials. Also as a teacher I need make sure that the image that the students put in their mind is the same as what, I, he teacher have described to them. These two articles help, me, the teacher better get the image from my mind and transform it to the student mind successful.
Different culture and rituals
Some people see rituals to be evil and no good, he or she doesn’t not understand what spiral or culture thing go one in a ritual. I guess that witch craft books that most of read when we was small made a bid expression on us that we believe that ritual are bad, evil and ungodly.
Rituals may be defined as those of prearranged official manners that have no scientific penalty. Ritual proceedings are figurative, that cultures declare something regarding the position of the relationship. However some cultures see it not essentially purposive, recitalist from the ritual will not essentially to request the alter position of relationships.
Rituals come with every culture. Ritual to me is just something that you do every day. For example brushing your teeth when you wake up and taking a bath when you get up can be characterized as a ritual. In most cultures people grow up using the ritual almost all their life. It is an innate ability that is consistent throughout life.
Culture
Culture can cause confidence as well as misunderstanding because the one who is sending the information can send the wrong information to the receiver. In culture there may be some double standards or ethnocentrism. Many people that exist within a culture believe that their cultures are the best or believe that other cultures are inferior.
Contexts are throughout communication and are not just vocal speaking transfer; however it can be extending importance. This extending importance is context. For instance, in most cultures, in the morning you must address everyone in the house with good morning.
Above average and below average; in above average context the majority of information is restricted in context. The communication is not open or clear, and is used in a communication roundabout way. Below average communication are conveyed straight. The communication must be clear and concise.
The study of awareness and utilizing space is proxemics. Culture dictates how differently most of us handle our space. Proxemics is a significant characteristic of no spoken communication.
.
What does being a teacher mean?
Educator! Teaching the teachable and having high expectation of students and push them to the limit that we as educator know that they can achieve.
Yes! As an educator I am willing to change or help not only the students but myself as well. I believe that educator should challenge the kids and one’s self. Being an affective educator one must have establishes relationship, character, problems, hopes, and doubts.
Being an educator to me is being creative, being able to wait, deliberate leaving things when one is incorrect, being confident, having the power being about to oppose, surrendering to other power and a lot more. Educators show students how to doing something that the students did not understand and challenge them at the same time. There will be times when I the educator would be troubled by trying to move forward the student learning. There will also be some risks but these risks come with rewards, being an educator one must promote individual learning in students and out of out trouble come solutions.
Being an educator one must be ready, ready to grow with the student while they grow and prepared for anything.
Alteration or transforming one values, and beliefs
Even now most of our homes are being transformed but most people call it reformation. Reformation to me is a fashionable word for re-establish, refresh, replenish, repairing or remodeling house to be improved (so that the house can be an expensive).
Alteration also refers to cloths. Alteration is just making something different from what it appears to be. Most of the time alterations are used for the changing of cloths or some kind of material. Transformation and alteration can be used interchangeably.
The article about confidence was about the capability to reinvent one self, the ability to recognize and grip to different human, and the aptitude to survive and task in cultures and subcultures other than our own as if we were natives. This article helped me realize that I have gone through a change to help build up and change the way I think of things as well as increase my confidence.
Concepts are defined as a general beginning for one's situation that relate to all elements in one's humanity, plus oneself. Confidence is extra then concepts; it is the way we rate and look upon our self concepts. Through the processes of confidence we obtain most of our life experiences. I am still increasing my concepts and confidence and I believe that most humans’ surfers from lack or low confidence and concept. It is hard to recognize and handle diversity, but today the world has become increasingly diverse with different culture so we as teachers should have an open-mind, acceptance, and compassion to many different cultures. I believe that teachers should be aware of and show respect to others thinking, morals, and behaviors towards different cultures. We as teachers should show cooperative talent to improve student acceptance of different views and cultures; this will help teachers and students over look people without making reference to our personal wants and wellbeing.

The human use of fire, wheel and writing
The reasoning behind the article How Fire Was Made was to show readers how humans enveloped or changed when faced with a new objects. Some evidence proves that humans made fire however physical evidence suggest that the fires were just fires mad by nature and not by man. Fire was used about 125,000 years ago; environmental scientist suggests that fire was use 300,000 to 500,000 years ago. Through this article I gained insight on how the discovering cooking food helped evolve the physical characteristics of the human body. Through cooking, humans developed a more defined body shape which included reduction in their head, hands, and teeth. One thing that I found interesting that wildfires destroy trees, plants, food, and animal homes there still have there benefits to.
In the article How the Wheel Was Made I learned that the oldest wheel used was over fifty- five hundred years ago. This was made possible because firewood was positioned beneath an item and worn to haul heavy things such as sleigh or lodge. As time went by the sleigh developed grooves on its rollers, this made it much easier to carry.
Furthermore, from the article The History of Writing comes the formation of writing. A picture from a million of years ago described how much land and how many different types of animals humans had. In this article humans used symbols to represent a record of land, grain, or livestock.
I believe as a teacher these article help give me some knowledge on material that we use every day. These three articles help me see that learning is transformation and that we as humans should not let any thing or any one stand in our way of attaining knowledge. These articles also help me realize that we can change or evolve our mind and our view of learning.
